apt-X, the “gold standard” low-latency, audio coding algorithm for Studio-to-Transmitter-Links, deploys in next-generation G5 STL AoIP codecs from award-winning Tieline Technology of Australia.

APTX, the audio coding solutions company and developer of apt-X, audio codec technology, today announces that Tieline Technology, the long-established Australian manufacturer of high-performance POTS/ISDN/IP audio codec equipment for professional broadcast applications, has licensed the Enhanced apt-X audio codec scheme for low-latency, high-quality encoding/decoding for deployment in a new range of advanced AoIP codecs scheduled to launch in early 2010.

APTX now licenses its high-performance Enhanced apt-X audio codec to almost every broadcast OEM equipment manufacturer providing hardware for audio-over-IP, including APT, AVT, Harris, Mandozzi, MAYAH, MDOUK, Prodys, and Pulsecom, and others. Tieline focuses on core infrastructure audio distribution/STL and delivery.

Commenting on the successful conclusion of the licensing deal, Darren Levy of Tieline said: “We’re very happy to have secured the inclusion of Enhanced apt-X technology in our upcoming new range of G5 STL audio codecs. The G5 STL codecs are currently in development and test, and will be launched to market early 2010. Enhanced apt-X is beyond doubt the gold standard for high-quality audio STL and distribution and we look forward to working with team APTX.”

Jonny McClintock, President World Wide Sales of APTX said: “Tieline technology has a clear focus on STL and distribution. In the labs at APTX, our R&D engineering team has spent many years perfecting best-of-breed audio codecs for remote broadcast over difficult networks where there’s various QoS issues. APTX has accumulated world-class expertise in both hardware and software applications involving Audio-over-IP. We are absolutely delighted to have Tieline as a technology partner.”
