apt-X Standard

apt-X Standard audio codecapt-X Standard is a 16 bit audio codec, which is capable of 4:1 audio compression and decompression with a Latency of <2.5mS @ Fs 48kHz and dynamic range of >92dB.

The apt-X Standard audio codec is the ‘granddaddy’ of Broadcast contribution and distribution and was first introduced in the early 1990s on a Lucent DSP solution. apt-X Standard audio coding was revolutionary for its time and providing the unique competitive advantages of; low delay, error resilience and great audio quality meant it quickly became synonymous with audio transport throughout the broadcast and film post-production industries worldwide.
